2021 Re-Signing: Shanice Parker
We are proud to have had Shanice Parker as a Bear since the establishment of the women’s senior team in 2018. She is an integral part of the Bears female pathway journey and has had a big impact on the strength, direction and culture of tour women’s team.
Shanice was part of the North Sydney Bears history making team that reached the Grand Final in 2020, only just missing out on taking the 2020 Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership.
After the HNWP season concluded, Shanice was invited to join the Sydney Roosters NRLW team in which again the side competed in the 2020 NRLW Grand Final.
To top off a big year, Shanice was also selected to represent the NSW Blues in the 2020 Women’s State of Origin clash. Well done Shanice on a fantastic year and we look forward to seeing you back in the Red & Black for 2021.
Great to have you back on board for 2021! What are you looking forward to about the new season?
I’m looking forward to seeing the girls again, new coach so new opportunities to learn & expand on our knowledge from previous seasons.
What did you learn or take away from the unusual year that was 2020 and will carry forward with you into the future?
I learnt that footy isn’t everything, during the COVID period it really showed that there are other things in life that fit around footy that are just as important & nailing that off the field mental space enhances your performance on the field too.
What are you looking forward to outside of rugby league in 2021?
I am looking forward to going back home to Perth (if the borders open) to visit family as I haven’t seen them since earlier this year!
