The injury toll for both Bears and Storm continues to test our team, resulting in ongoing tweaking of our NSW Cup line up by Head Coach Pat Weisner and his staff. Over the weekend, Tui Katoa sustained a concussion against the Panthers and Trey Peni went off with an HIA playing for the Hills Bulls. Both players have begun their 11 day stand down period, with Katoa able to return to play when the Bears play the Bulldogs at Bear Park on the 30th June. Three key players are on our long-term injuries list with Nathaniel Roache and Jack Boyling recovering from Lisfranc injuries. Roache will undergo a second surgery this week and Boyling is working towards a return to play in late July. Riley Meyn underwent surgery today for his ACL injury and will be out for the season while he undergoes rehabilitation. Meanwhile, Regan Hughes has returned to unrestricted training and Sean Vaivelata made a successful return to play with Hills Bulls following a rib cartilage contusion. Finally, Che Te Rangi has recovered well and is expected to return to play within the fortnight.
